MUSIC IN ROME

The cultural visit !

All roads lead to Rome, it is well known. Useless also to say that Rome is one of the big revelations of a journey in Italy. And Rome did not build itself in one day. Nowhere else twenty eight centuries of history are also present. Certain temples and Roman amphitheatres remained strangely intact and are a part integral of the town planning.

These vestiges, the uncountable churches showing first time of the Christendom or posting the more or less luxurious baroque, palaces the Renaissance, the fountains and the baroque places and the alleys in the medieval charm make of Rome a city where all the styles mix.
Rome is really an open-air museum, a city which kept a real architectural homogeneity; here, no turnovers due to the industrialization and to the modernism, but a city which kept all its charm of former days.

The COLISEE

The symbol universally known for Rome! Built between 72 and 82 AD, he could contain up to 50 000 persons come assist in gladiatorial combats of wild animals. It will be afterward widely imitated (Arles, Nimes). This symbol of the Old Rome takes the name of Coliseum only in the Middle Ages, after the emperor Hadrien made move the colossal statue of Néron, 35 metres high. The giant strikes so much the spirits which it eventually gives its name to the site: Colosseo ( Coliseum).

The FORUM

An exceptional site: between the Capitol and the Coliseum, the Roman Forum concentrates about twelve centuries of Roman culture which reached until us. How not to go into raptures in front of the columns of the temple of Saturn (IVth after JC), the bow of Septime Sévère (203 after JC), the temple of Beaver and Pollux (the 5th after JC) or Vesta's temple (IIIth after JC) The visitor of the Roman Forum imagines, from vestiges, that was able to be Rome for its highlight. Fascinating and unforgettable.

The PANTHEON

Even if the first temple was built by Caught in 27 BC, the Pantheon of Rome owes its beauty to the emperor Hadrien who made build his magnificent rotunda at the beginning of IIth after JC. Dedicated originally to seven global divinities, the Pantheon will be dedicated to the Christian worship at the beginning of the VIIth century. Under its dome, amounting to more than 43 metres, are the royal graves of Italy and artists, as Raphaël.
